Arsenal of Freethought
As my first "real" post, I have decided to share what I've taken to calling my "Arsenal of Freethought." It's basically a collection of Bible verses, informative websites, articles, videos, and reddit posts/comments that I find especially thought-provoking or useful. My hope is to help others in any way possible with these links, whether it is to answer questions, provide clarity, cause laughter, or even give comfort that there are other like-minded people out there.
Beginnings.
Hello and welcome to my blog, Daily Heathen Life.
It is my intention to weigh in and give commentary on current events as they pertain to atheists in the United States specifically, and to address controversial topics and deconstruct arguments from both sides in order to view them more objectively.
Things to expect:
That about wraps it up. Thanks for reading; it should be an interesting ride.
It is my intention to weigh in and give commentary on current events as they pertain to atheists in the United States specifically, and to address controversial topics and deconstruct arguments from both sides in order to view them more objectively.
Things to expect:
- Thought-provoking posts about religion and politics and how they affect daily life for nonbelievers.
- Insightful posts about life, love, the pursuit of happiness, morality, and how all of this is possible (and easier) without the necessity of a belief in a god or gods.
- An objective look at life for nonbelievers as compared to life for believers.
- A different perspective on life in general.
- All of the above conveyed eloquently and intelligently.
- Interesting links about a variety of topics, most notably religion, politics, philosophy, and science.
- Angry posts bashing religious or political institutions - my intent is to provoke thought about important issues, not to rant about them.
- Uneducated commentary - when I write about a topic, I make sure I get my facts straight. Every post that contains a statistic, quote, or assertion WILL have a "sources" section.
- A "moderate" point of view. I will do my best to explain my points of view as simply and succinctly as possible, but said points are very rarely moderate.
That about wraps it up. Thanks for reading; it should be an interesting ride.
